Knoxville Teachers and Staff will undergo a new training regimen targeted towards mental health next week.
Mental Health First Aid Class will be presented by Stacy Haas from Marion County Public Health over spring break for 90 teachers and staff members. Knoxville Community School District Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News the class will help teachers and staff identify everyday stressors and how students deal with those stressors, and to hopefully help fix a minor problem before it becomes a major one. The remaining teachers and staff members who will not receive training next week will take the class in June.
