A Pella basketball alumna continued a tradition of playing in the final tournament of her team’s season when Northwestern Collect to the NAIA Championship Semifinals this week.

Katie Vander Molen made two trips to the 4A Girls State Basketball Tournament in 2016 and 2017, and saw time on the floor as Northwestern advanced in the postseason this year. In her first season, Vander Molen saw significant playing time, averaging nine and a half minutes per game and shooting 34.5 percent from three on the No. 11 ranked Red Raiders, who finished at 25-9 this year.

Katie played 13 minutes and hit a three in the 2nd round of the National Tournament.
