Marion County Habitat for Humanity is moving a house from Pella to Knoxville to become a part of the habitat home ownership program.
The lot of the home was purchased by Bank Iowa, who donated the house to Habitat for Humanity. This is the second home Habitat for Humanity of Marion County will have moved recently, as the first was moved in the fall of 2017 in Pella. Joel Verhoef with Habitat for Humanity tells KNIA/KRLS News of the advantages of moving a home over building one includes all the extras that come with the house including tile, appliances, furnishings etc, but also how every house has a story that everyone will connect with something good in the community. The move will begin on Monday, April 2nd and be completed throughout next week.
