A bases loaded single in the bottom of the ninth inning gave Buena Vista an extra-inning victory over the Central College softball team in game one of a doubleheader last night in Storm Lake. The Dutch then bounced back to win the nightcap 6-4.

Sophomore outfielder Sara Tallman of Pella had five hits in the twinbill, scored three runs and stole a pair of bases. Fellow outfielder Shaye Witte and catcher Emily Walton each collected three hits.

Central is now 19-7 on the season and 6-2 in Iowa Conference play. They’ll enjoy the weekend off before heading to Decorah next Tuesday to battle fifth-ranked Luther.
