The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce and Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday at the Knoxville Walmart to celebrate their remodel and grant contributions.
The Knoxville High School Band played the national anthem and school song as they were given a $1,500 grant, as well as grants of $2,500 to Habitat for Humanity of Marion County, and $2,000 to the Red Cross. Store Manager Dan Northrup tells KNIA/KRLS News, the store remodel was easy because of the 33 employees who have worked there for over 15 years, and that his remodel is for them because they have worked so hard and that now they can continue to show what they can do. The remodel had over 60 visiting associates plus an in-store planning team working to overhaul the entire store.
