It is safe to say that the PCM boys’ soccer team is the most conditioned squad in the state, as Monday marked their sixth overtime game of the season. Unfortunately, the Mustangs have been on the losing end of five of those contests including in a back and forth affair with Albia last night 5-4 in single overtime.
The Mustangs grabbed an early lead when Noah Hirayama found the back of the net for his first goal of the first 40 minutes. After a pair of Albia goals, Misha Seebeck grabbed his team-leading sixth goal of the season and Hirayama added another for the Mustangs to have a 3-2 lead at half. Collin Peterson extended the lead in the second half but a Blue Demon comeback sent the game into overtime and they ultimately won off a penalty kick in overtime.
PCM falls to 2-9 on the year and will host Centerville Thursday.
