Ray Gaesser, a candidate running for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, recently traveled through Marion County, and noted that many of the issues that farmers face are the same around the state.
Gaesser tells KNIA/KRLS News during this time of uncertainty, he hopes the benefits of working in agriculture is not lost on the youth of the area because Iowa has seen tough times before in the 70’s and 80’s, but through hard work farmers made a living and he hopes young people don’t get discouraged if they are passionate about farming. Gaesser is running as a Republican, and will compete against four other candidates in the June 5th primary.
