Knoxville High School seniors and alumni received $127,000 last night from the Knoxville Panther Scholarship Foundation.

Ninety-six current Knoxville High School graduates received scholarships worth $52,000, and 95 past graduates from the classes of 2015, 2016, and 2017 received $75,000. Curt Froyan with the Knoxville Panther Scholarship Foundation tells KNIA/KRLS News the donors are far more important to the community than many realize because it inspires many Knoxville grads to stay in the community because of all they help they received, and now many of the donors are residents who were awarded scholarships when they were in school. The Knoxville Panther Scholarship Foundation is now in its 15th year, starting with giving out $18,000 in its first year, and has now given out over $945,000 for secondary education.
