While every team wishes to be playing their best golf at postseason time, few see it become reality. The postseason is here and success has become the reality for the PCM boys’ golf team, as they clinched a spot in the class 2A state meet with a decisive district win at Lake Panorama yesterday.

The Mustangs shot a 326 in the 18-hole meet that was 12 shots better than second place Des Moines Christian. Dayton Boell played like a senior not ready for his high school career to be wrapped up, as he led the team with a 77. Other scoring for the state bound Mustangs were Andrew Van Ryswyk with 81, Reed Worth with 81, and Jackson Thomas garnered an 87.

The Mustangs will try to ride this postseason wave next week when they battle with seven other schools for a state title on Thursday and Friday in Marshalltown.
