A Minnesota man changed his plea from not-guilty to guilty on Thursday, as Leslie Hout admitted to the charges of an OWI, eluding police under the influence of drugs, and carrying weapons.
Hout was originally arrested in early April for his third OWI after the Marion County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop, but he refused to pull over immediately causing a short pursuit on Highway 14 that reached speeds exceeding 85 mph. Hout eventually pulled over and resisted police commands before being taken into custody.
A subsequent search of the vehicle showed the presence of a knife, marijuana, prescription drugs, as well as pipes that field tested positive for residue of methamphetamine. Hout faces a five year prison term for both the OWI and eluding police charges, two years for carrying weapons, and a mandatory six year driver’s license suspension. Sentencing for Hout will take place on July 12th.
