The party primary elections for local, state, and federal offices take place today.

Contested local seats include five Republican Party candidates for Marion County Board of Supervisors, Mike Moats, Kisha Jahner, Marty Van Vliet, Rodney Johnson, and Don Light. Stanley Bingham is running unopposed in the Democratic Party primary. Ann Fields and Zachary Pendroy are competing for the Democratic Party nomination for Iowa House District 28, with Jon Thorup and Jon Van Wyk looking for the Republican Party nomination.

Uncontested Marion County elections include Ed Bull for Attorney, Michaela Bigouette for Treasurer, and Karen Schwanebeck for Recorder. Voting will also take place for state offices, as primaries for Governor, Secretary of State, Auditor, Treasurer, Agriculture, and Attorney General are all available. The polls are open from 7am until 9 pm.
