The Healthy Knoxville Coalition and Wellmark’s Healthy Hometown Initiative partnered to host a Walking Audit of Highway 14 in Knoxville today.

Residents looked for quality walking space, the state of the sidewalks, safety hazards, and the impact of traffic among other items. Wellmark Community Health Manager Jenny Weber tells KNIA/KRLS News walking gives you a different perspective than driving because we might see things that we might miss on the inside of a car and we can take the time to observe our surroundings. Weber also said the goal of the Walking Audit is to provide Knoxville with insights on how to make the community more walker and biker friendly.
