For the first time since 2013, the Pella Christian softball team will begin the playoffs on the road in Class 2A.
The Iowa High School Athletic Girls Union has released their brackets for Class 1A through 3A for the regional playoffs.
The Eagles will travel to Madrid on Monday, July 2nd to open the postseason in Class 2A Region 4. Pleasantville has been afforded an opening round bye in the same bracket, and then host Pekin on Tuesday, July 3rd. Pella Christian would have to travel to Van Meter that same night if they can topple the Tigers. PCM will have to hit the road on July 3rd as well in Class 3A, opening at Clarke in Osceola.
In Class 1A, Twin Cedars and Melcher-Dallas have both been afforded the opportunity to host in round one, with the Saints hosting Southeast Warren and the Sabers hosting Moulton-Udell on Monday, July 2nd. Both would have to travel on July 3rd if they win, with Martensdale-St. Marys awaiting the winner from the Melcher-Dallas game, and Lenox hosting the winner of the Twin Cedars contest.
