It was a tough night for the PCM summer teams in Jewell against South Hamilton with both squads getting swept in a doubleheader.
The baseball team was behind the eight ball before the night started, as game one was a suspended contest from June 6th where the Mustangs trailed 6-0 in the fourth inning. The same story continued the final three innings with the Hawks coming out on top 7-1. In game two despite a solid outing on the bump by Noah Henkenius, the Mustangs fell 2-1. Henkenius tossed six innings of seven hit ball and two earned runs. Dane Owens led the offense collecting a pair of hits including a double and the lone RBI. Derek Brown and Olin Meinders each added doubles. PCM drops their record to 7-9 and travels to face Greene County on Monday.
In softball the Mustangs started the night up 3-1 in the fourth to finish a suspended game but saw their lead quickly disappear and fell 6-4. The Hawks capped off the perfect night winning the nightcap 12-3. PCM is now 2-10 on the year and will travel to Pella Christian today for a tournament.
