The Knoxville Baty-Tucker 168 American Legion Post was giving away green light bulbs at the 4th of July on the Square celebration in Knoxville in support of the Greenlight A Vet movement.
The Greenlight A Vet campaign aims to establish visible national support for our veterans by changing one light in a visible location to green instead of white. Curt Froyen with the Knoxville American Legion tells KNIA/KRLS News he wants Knoxville to stand out with this endeavor and it would be nice if he could drive the streets of Knoxville and see green lights on all the porches, and if people go online to see where the most green lights are it would be great to see our area be well represented. You can also register your green light bulb online and see all the locations in the area that has joined. The Legion has green light bulbs for anyone upon request, and will also be giving away green light bulbs at upcoming events such as the Knoxville Nationals and Veterans Day. For more information on how to obtain a green light bulb, contact Curt Froyan at 641-891-7170.
