An informational meeting about the solar energy project agreement between the City of Knoxville, the Knoxville Community School District, and Red Lion Renewables will take place on Thursday.
The project, which will place solar on 15 facilities throughout Knoxville including City Hall, the Library, and Ken Locke Stadium, is cost free to the city and school district. Knoxville City Manager Aaron Adams tells KNIA/KRLS News the project can make Knoxville a leader in solar energy because there is no risk financially for the city or school district to be involved in the project, and it sets an example for residents that we are serious about renewable energy and protecting the environment. The meeting will take place at the school administration building beginning at 5:30pm.
