Pleasantville’s Jack Lauer will represent Marion County and the state of Iowa at Boys Nation which begins tomorrow in Washington D.C.
Two representatives from each of the 49 Boys States run by the American Legion represent their state, where young leaders receive an education on the structure and function of federal government. Lauer tells KNIA/KRLS News he applied to go to Boys Nation during Boys State, and it is a great honor to be selected
Lauer says, “When I received notification that I was granted access for an interview to go to Boys Nation, I was incredibly honored because that is a great feat in and of itself. I wasn’t really expecting anything but then they called my name and I was filled with a humble feeling and felt incredibly thrilled because the opportunities from this will be incredible.”
Boys Nation will run until July 28th.
