Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt recently returned from a trip to Washington D.C. after being included in the Iowa delegation invited by the White House Intergovernmental Affairs department.
Sandholdt tells KNIA/KRLS News the purpose of the trip is to build relationships between local, state, and federal officials and he got a chance to open a dialogue with Senators Grassley and Ernst, as well as federal officials with the justice department and that will benefit the area by putting a “face” to the name. Sandholdt also said that he believes he will be able to better serve the residents of Marion County after building those relationships.
