The Top 10 countdown continues for Pleasantville sports for 2017-18 with number three.
Growing up, every kid dreams of sinking a buzzer-beating shot that propels their team to victory. Devon Dursky got to live that dream back on January 9th when he nailed a shot as time expired to lift the Trojan basketball team to a 47-45 win over Martensdale St. Mary’s. After falling to the conference foe by 23 points earlier in the season, Pleasantville got their revenge on the road. The offense struggled to get anything going early just recording 17 points heading into the break. Things picked up in the second half and with the score tied at 45 with seconds remaining Dursky worked his magic. The senior finished with 10 points on the night. Owen Worthington and Kyle Amendt led the team with 11 points.
The win kept a three-game winning streak alive out of the winter break and the Trojans finished the year 17-6.
