The Marion County Republicans honored outgoing state representatives Greg Heartsill and Guy Vander Linden at a picnic Friday.
A crowd of approximately 40 gathered at the Caldwell Park Shelterhouse. State Senator Ken Rozenboom spoke to honor Vander Linden, and Marion County Attorney Ed Bull thanked Heartsill on behalf of the county party.
Additionally, numerous candidates running for office as Republicans in the upcoming November general elections were in attendance, including Dr. Christopher Peters in the U.S. House race; Mary Mosiman, who is running as the incumbent state auditor; Dustin Hite, who is running for Vander Linden’s opening seat, and Marion County Board of Supervisors Candidate Kisha Jahner. Senator Amy Sinclair was also there, along with numerous residents.
