The status and repair of Warren County Bridges has been through a significant overhaul over the last four years, and county officials have spent a large portion of the budget to make sure the bridges are in good shape.

Warren County Engineer David Carroll tells KNIA News the budget has seen some swings with so many projects going on.

“Four and a half years ago our county was in surplus, and we were in so much surplus in bridge funding we were at the limit and was going to have to give it away to other jurisdictions. Since then, we have drawn those accounts down and are now living paycheck-to-paycheck so to speak with trying to get those bridges repaired or replaced.”

Carroll also said that several bridge projects will be paused over the winter and pick up again next spring, and for a full list go to KNIA/KRLS.com and click on this story.
