Preparations are well underway for the 2018 Indianola Holiday Extravaganza on November 30th.
This year the event will feature a lighting of the trees on the square, a festival of trees, photos with Santa, horse drawn carriage rides, live musical groups, and lighted parade. Brenda Easter with the Indianola Chamber of Commerce tells KNIA News the extravaganza is a large part of what makes Indianola unique
“The holiday extravaganza has taken different shapes and sizes over the last 10 years, and I think what’s really magical about this particular event is that it’s really the kickoff of the holidays. I think what’s really awesome about that is the sense of community. This is a chance for people to come down to the square, bring their family and friends, but mostly it is about making memories.”
Festivities begin at 5pm with Santa taking pictures and horse drawn carriage rides, the lighting of the holiday trees will take place at 6:30, and the lighted parade begins at 8pm.
