A small fire in the kitchen of a Knoxville residence caused no injuries or serious damage on Tuesday morning.
Knoxville firefighters were called to the 800 block of West Robinson at about 8:00 a.m. for a report of a burning smell inside the residence. Fire personnnel found light smoke inside the kitchen; they discovered the refrigerator’s motor and compressor had seized up, and they were able to put out the fire simply by unplugging it.
Firefighters were on the scene for about 45 minutes.
