Community fundraisers were held Friday night as part of festivities at the first of two Pella-Pella Christian basketball doubleheaders this winter.
Dollars for Scholars in Pella helped to host a pork dinner, in conjunction with the Pella Hy-Vee, with free will donations give to support scholarships for graduating seniors from both high schools.
Marion County Bank topped the $100,000 all-time mark in their annual halftime shoot-out fundraiser, featuring students from Pella and P.C. raising money for school activities by making varying baskets. Lucas Bandstra of Pella Christian and Ben Nelson of Pella each made half-court shots, worth $1000 for their respective school’s activity fund.
Both the Dollars for Scholars and Marion County Bank activities return on January 18th, when Pella Community High School hosts the Eagles.
