More records for cold have been broken as a record-breaking streak of arctic air is expected to continue through the end of the week.

According to the National Weather Service, both the afternoon high and overnight low temperatures on New Year’s Eve (-3, -21) and New Year’s Day (0, -20) have shattered long standing records for cold. While not as cold, temperatures will stay in the single digits during the day and below zero during the night through Friday, before a warmup begins on Saturday into early next week.
