Both the women’s and men’s basketball programs at Simpson College have survived an up-and-down season so far, and that will continue this afternoon on their home court as they host the Prairie Wolves of Nebraska Wesleyan.
The Storm women broke a school record in their first matchup against the Prairie Wolves back in December, putting up 66 first half points and winning 35 points. Jenna Taylor has been on fire as of late, as she put up 33 points against Central last week, and 23 against Dubuque on the road on Wednesday.
As for the Men’s team, a recent three game losing streak has them scrambling for position in the Iowa Conference standings. The Storm are currently 5-5 in the standings and sit two games above dropping out of the postseason tournament, but are just a half game out of fourth.
Action this afternoon can be heard live on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA, KNIAKRLS.com, and the free KNIA mobile app, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage starts at 1:45, and tip-off is at 2pm.
