Democratic candidate for governor Fred Hubbell made a stop in Knoxville Friday.

Hubbell took part in a meet and greet at the Knoxville Public Library. Hubbell spoke about his experience and how he plans to help Iowa grow. Hubbell tells KNIA/KRLS News he believes Governor Kim Reynolds and the Republican Party have underfunded public education, stripped away collective bargaining, privatized medicaid, done nothing for the mental health and substance abuse crisis in Iowa and they have taken away funding for planned parenthood. Hubbell says at the same time the Republicans have prioritized wasteful corporate giveaways. Hubbell, and fellow candidate John Norris both spoke with residents in Knoxville this week in preparation for the Marion County Democratic Caucus which will take place in the Knoxville High School Commons on Monday, February 5th at 7 p.m.
