Snowfall Amounts Saturday morning.

From Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom:

Due to heavy snow over the past week, if residents have a fire hydrant close to them, the Pella Fire Department would appreciate them uncovering it.

“That would really help us if there was a fire in their neighborhood,” he says.

According to the National Weather Service, 3-5″ of snow blanketed Marion County Saturday morning, with a final total of 5″ in Knoxville and 3.5″ in Pella. Last week, between 10-12″ fell in the region.

More snow is possible tonight south of I-80, with 1-2″ in the forecast.
