The application period for the 2018 grant cycle of the Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation is underway.

The foundation is taking grant applications from groups in Knoxville who are looking to improve the city with small projects. Board member Dylan Morse with the foundation tells KNIA/KRLS News some of the projects the foundation has helped with over the years include the renovation at Ken Locke Stadium, the Grand Theater reopening, the Knoxville Performing Arts Center’s debut and outfitting and the Knoxville Public Library’s Expansion Project. Morse says any non profit group with a plan can apply for a grant. He says all the group has to do is show the foundation they have a plan, they have an idea of the cost, they know what they need to get it done and have the ability to do it and just need that last financial push to do it. The Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation was established in 1985 by Knoxville citizens who wanted to improve their city while also leaving a legacy.
