The 2019 part of the season begins tonight for the Pleasantville basketball teams when they host Van Meter.
The Trojan boys will be in a tussle with an undefeated 7-0 Bulldog squad. Van Meter has made it look easy all season long winning by a remarkable average of 30 points a game. Trojan head coach Joel Allman tells KNIA Sports it all starts defensively with them, as they are the number one defensive team in class 2A. The Trojans come into the contest 3-6.
The Pleasantville girls will have just as big of a challenge against the 7-2 Bulldogs. Points could come at a premium for both teams, as each defense gives up less than 37 points a game. Pleasantville is 7-4 on the season.
The girls’ game gets underway at 6:30 p.m. tonight with the boys to follow at Pleasantville High School. Listen to the doubleheader on the KNIA3 Stream starting at 6:15 p.m.
