There’s never a bad time to get an extra $1,000, but two of the winners of the KNIA/KRLS Christmas Giveaway received it just when it was really needed.
Tami Wentz of Pleasantville won the top prize in our drawing at Motor Inn in Knoxville on Saturday morning; and she tells KNIA/KRLS News the timing couldn’t have been better.
“Actually, it’s wonderful; my daughter called me when I was waiting and she said her water heater went out; and she’s on the government furlough, so I can help her now,” Wentz says.
The second prize of $500 went to Felicia Stephanie of Knoxville; and the third prize of an outdoor grill provided by Spahn and Rose goes to Barb O’Brien of Knoxville.
A second drawing took place at Pella Motors; Connie Playle of Oskaloosa won the grand prize of $1,000, and she tells KNIA/KRLS News the money will help after a season of big Christmas spending for her family.
“We took $1,000, the reason being because we overspent at Christmas time; we have nine grandkids,” Playle says.
Marge Zondervan of Pella won $500 and Ruby Van Vark of Pella won a washer and dryer from Bruxvoort’s.
