The Simpson Storm men’s and women’s basketball teams made the long road trip to Dubuque to take on the Spartans Saturday afternoon, and came away with a sweep in American Rivers Conference play.

The Storm men would trade baskets with the Spartans early on before a run before the half led to a 42-37 deficit. The Storm came out firing in the second half, making 8-11 three point shots and 13-14 free throws to salt away the game in an 86-71 victory. The Storm women used a suffocating press to force turnovers and get up to a big lead before the three pointers began to rain. The Storm made 20 three’s and shot 54% from long range en route to their blowout 102-65 win. The Storm men improve to 9-4, the women improve to 11-3, and both teams will next play against Nebraska Wesleyan on Wednesday at home.
