The Indianola Music Boosters are currently in the process of fundraising for new uniforms for the Pride of Indianola Marching Band, as well as orchestra dresses and tuxedo coats. Anita Christensen with the music boosters tells KNIA News the current uniforms are in dire need of replacement.
“The current marching band uniforms are about 12 years old and have outlived their useful life, which normally lasts about 10 years. It was noted by a judge during the last marching season that there were tattered uniforms during the performance and that gave the push to get this going. Orchestra wears a uniform for their performances, and zippers are breaking and dress material is breaking, so we are just trying to outfit our kids for success.”
The boosters are aiming for a goal of $80,000 to complete the purchases, with band members and boosters participating in events around town. For more information on the boosters fundraising effort, visit the boosters website below.
