Pella’s boys will look to defend their home floor tonight on what they hope is the first stop on a journey to their 17th trip to the state tournament appearance.

The Little Dutch welcome Newton in the Class 3A substate opening round in a doubleheader. Pella swept the winless Cardinals in the conference season, 88-60 and 76-57. Newton finished the regular campaign 0-19, while the Little Dutch were 15-5 and 3rd place in the Little Hawkeye Conference with a 10-4 record, and currently sit at No. 3 in Iowa’s Associated Press Poll.

Coverage from Pella High School of the boys game begins this evening at approximately 7:30 p.m. – as there will be a doubleheader at the high school, with Carlisle and Grinnell playing in the opener that starts at 6:30. The Pella game will be live on 92.1 KRLS.
