Congresswoman Cindy Axne visited the Lacona Community Building in Warren County Saturday, to answer questions from constituents regarding her work so far in Washington and hear about concerns facing local communities. Axne tells KNIA News agriculture is one of the top concerns for local residents and she will bring those concerns back to Washington.
“Our farmers have to be a part of our decision making when it comes to looking at some of the issues related to climate change. We need to hear their voices on impacts it will have to their economic viability and how we can make sure to bridge that gap. As we move forward to making sure we do have access to clean water which I know everyone in the state wants, everyone wants to be a good steward of the environment, but we have to make sure it is not an economic hardship.”
Axne also visited St. Charles in Madison County as a part of her Connect With Your Congresswoman event.
