The Pella Opera House and Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau are hosting a women’s weekend March 1-2. Pella Opera House Director Cyndi Atkins says activities will include an evening and morning of fun.

Festivities will include Taste of Pella Appetizers at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Divas Through The Decades performance at 7 p.m. on March 1st. On Saturday the 2nd, attendees can enjoy a Brunch and Style Show at 9 a.m. presented by Pella’s boutiques. All activities will take place at the Pella Opera House.

“After a long, cold winter, what can be more uplifting than a great show and having fun with friends?” Pella Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Director Jill Vandevoort said. “Pella is known as a great place for women to spend a day, from shopping to food to entertainment and more. So we decided to build on that and create a weekend event all about women.”

Tickets for the entire event cost $40 and can be purchased online at www.pellaoperahouse.org. Hear more about Women’s Weekend in Pella on today’s Let’s Talk Pella.

The Divas Through the Decades performance is a tribute to some of the most influential female vocalists in American pop music from the 1940’s through today. The Taste of Pella Appetizers allows attendees to experience many of the unique Dutch flavors produced in Pella, including favorites like Dutch pastries, Gouda cheese, Pella bologna and Bisschopswijn hot spiced cider. Featured retailers are bakeries, meat markets, a chocolate shop, and more. The Brunch and Style Show March 2 will showcase the latest trends for ages children through adults, created by local businesses.
