The team behind some of Des Moines’ most popular eateries has set its sights on Pella for a new dining destination.
Chef George Formaro and Orchestrate Hospitality will open Liberty Street Kitchen in the Royal Amsterdam Hotel this summer. Located on the Molengracht Plaza and adjacent to the town’s square, Liberty Street Kitchen is a new dining concept in Orchestrate’s family of restaurants.
Liberty Street Kitchen is a casual bistro celebrating “contemporary rural living”and offering “internationally inspired cuisine with a local focus.” The menu will showcase salads and small plates, “hearty” entrées, sandwiches and more alongside signature cocktails, craft beer and a wine list.
“Liberty Street Kitchen represents everything that inspires me about world cuisine,” says Chef George Formaro, on a post shared on their new website. “With flavors and ingredients from around the globe and our own backyard, our menu is rooted in history while speaking to today’s culinary experience.”
“We’re excited to join the community,” adds Orchestrate Hospitality President Paul Rottenberg. “Pella is a unique town with a rich heritage – we’ve already received outstanding civic support and encouragement and look forward to welcoming everyone to Liberty Street Kitchen.”
Orchestrate Hospitality is undertaking a full remodel of the restaurant’s approximately 6500 square foot space. Liberty Street Kitchen’s dining room will seat 122 people and will offer additional private- and semi-private dining and banquet accommodations for groups of up to 70. A bar and lounge area will accommodate 36, and a canal-facing patio will seat 60 for al fresco dining. In addition, Liberty Street Kitchen will offer catering for off-site business and social gatherings.
