The Indianola Lions Club presented third graders at Emerson Elementary with information about the US and Iowa Flag, and gave each student a flag to take home as part of their tour throughout the Indianola School District Thursday morning. The Lions Club has been running the program since 1990 and given out over 6,000 flags, and member Judge Kevin Parker tells KNIA News it is all about instilling some patriotism.
“We went over to just basically instill a love of the country and love of the flag. These young people always have such good questions and they love to participate and they always have. Their enthusiasm is contagious, so it’s great having them.”
