The Knoxville Public Library is rolling out a new online job search service, which will be available at no charge to job seekers through its own website.
The Library is launching Brainfuse on March 1st; Roslin Thompson from the Knoxville Public Library tells KNIA/KRLS News this service fills a gap which job seekers have had to contend with for some time.
“A few years ago, a lot of the Iowa Workforce Development centers closed; and then public libraries received funding to assist people with looking for jobs; and now the new tools that we have, it’s a new database and it’s called Brainfuse, and it has resources to help people find jobs,” Thompson says.
You can go through the link on the library website, and connect with JobNow; it not only provides listings, but offers live interview coaching, resume writing tips and resume reviews, and an adult learning center.
Users can also access VetNow; this site is specifically for veterans and their families, and not only provides job services but access to a variety of agencies which provide benefits and services for those who have served in the armed forces.
Thompson says you will need a library card in order to access JobNow and VetNow; these are available at the library’s temporary location inside the old East Elementary School, as are computer terminals for those in need of one.
