The Warren County Sheriff’s Office hosted a Polar Plunge Saturday morning at Lake Ahquabi in Indianola, to raise money for Special Olympics Iowa. Over 75 participants jumped into the frigid waters, and the event raised over $30,000. Chief Deputy Randy Spurr with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office tells KNIA News the community once again came out in support of the plunge, and each year seems to get more fun. The recent cold snap and precipitation forced organizers to cut a hole in the ice further out into the lake, a first for Special Olympics Iowa.
