The Melcher-Dallas Boys were good defensively this season. After giving up an average of 86 points per game in their first three, the Saints lowered that to just under 71 points pregame on the defensive end. One reason was the play of Ryan Krpan and Blaise Cooper. Krpan was the thief of the team getting 72 steals, which was third in the Bluegrass Conference, while Cooper was the shot blocker rejecting 47 shots, good enough for fourth in the conference. While Cooper will depart the program this year, Krpan will have two more years with the Saints. Coach Jim Wells tells KNIA Sports Krpan can he a great defensive stopper next year along with others who will fit into the program. The Saints finished 11-8 this season.
