With the Indianola Community School District still behind 5.8 hours of the 1080 education hours mandated by the state of Iowa, the district is asking for feedback on the best and most convenient way to make up those hours. The school board had previously extended the school year by two days to June 3rd, but subsequent weather related cancellations caused the hours shortfall. Two proposals currently being considered are to extend the school day by 12 minutes each day for six weeks, or to cancel the Wednesday early outs for six weeks.
