Many former Pella Christian softball players have kick-started another season in the collegiate ranks.

Lizzy Van Manen has had a red-hot start to the early season for Northeast Mississippi Community College, who stand at a 10-1 record. Van Manen is 18 for 36 at the plate, with four home runs and 12 driven in, as well as 15 runs scored. Van Manen was a first-team all-state selection in 2017 for Pella Christian, and hit 18 career home runs in her two varsity seasons with the Eagles.

Emma Schnell, also a 2017 graduate and All-State pitcher for the Eagles, was a 2018 All-Conference selection from Northwestern College. Schnell will be the ace for the Red Raiders this spring, and is already 3-1 with a 2.21 ERA in 19 innings of work. Schnell was a three year ace for Pella Christian, earning 57 career wins and racking up 567 strikeouts in 493 career innings on Eagle Lane.

Natalie Vos also graduated from Pella Christian in 2017, and the sophomore has had a nice start to the season for Dordt College. Vos is 1-1 overall, with 8 strikeouts in 11 innings. She was a four year starter in the outfield and as a pitcher for the Eagles.

Both Vos and Schnell return to the circle when their respective teams travel to Tucson, Arizona on March 9th, while Van Manen continues games in regular season mode this week.
