The Simpson Storm softball team split their Wednesday contests in Florida, taking down Geneva 3-1 and falling to Roger Williams 7-4. Against Geneva, Emily Bell was dominant in the pitching circle going the distance for her third win, while the Storm offense had five hits as a team and tallied five walks, and a 2-run home run from Madi Bennett. In the loss to Roger Williams, the Storm couldn’t capitalize on early opportunities to score while Roger Williams had a two-out rally in the second and capitalized on a Simpson error. With two runners on, a Hawk batter hit a ball to centerfield and both runners scored and the batter advanced all the way to third on the Storm miscue. The Storm are now 5-5 on the season, and will play Bridgewater and Wheaton today.
