The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce has converted this month’s Lunch and Learn session into an online event, as they present a webinar on outsourcing.

The session originally scheduled for Thursday at noon at the ISU Extension Office will still be held at the same time; registered participants will be sent a link, and may view the event from their office or home. The panelists will also participate by way of an online link.

Hannah Vander Veer is the director of the Knoxville Chamber; she tells KNIA/KRLS News this presentation is intended to have rural businesses consider the benefits of outsourcing.

“In metro areas, this has taken off a lot faster, obviously; we want small businesses in rural areas to know that this is an option for them as well,” Vander Veer says.

“It’s impossible for everyone to do everything; so in order for you to be successful in your business, you might need to give up some of that control. And so we just want people to understand that it’s possible, and the steps that they can take to do that.”

The Knoxville Chamber recently joined the Greater Des Moines Partnership, which does such webinars on a regular basis; Vander Veer says this is their opportunity to try one of their own.
