Renovations are proceeding and plans are being formulated for The Well’s new location in Knoxville; now the faith-based organization is looking for local volunteers to help out, and offering training sessions for them in April.

The Well is still on track to open May 1st at its new site at the old Events Center on Pleasant Street; it will have a thrift store and ministry to offer assistance to anyone in need.

Jayson Henry is executive director for The Well; he tells KNIA/KRLS News they need plenty of people, and there’s plenty of work to be done no matter what your skill set.

“One thing that’s really great about our organization is there are so many places people can get involved. You can do face-to-face work with the people we serve; if you like finding treasures, thrift store is a great place to serve; if you like working with customers, thrift store is a great place to serve,” Henry says.

“Really, we accept anybody who brings talent into the organization; which everybody has talent, so we can find them a place to fit.”

Training sessions will be held on April 2nd and April 16th; the ones on April 2nd will be at noon and 6:00 p.m. at the Knoxville Public Library, and the first one on April 16th will be at noon at the library. The site for the 6:00 p.m. session on April 16th has not been determined.
