Vermeer Corporation has been recognized by the National Weather Service for their efforts in keeping employees safe during last summer’s EF3 tornado.
Meteorologist in Charge of the National Weather Service in Des Moines Jeff Johnson says Vermeer Corporation’s Head of Security Billy Fox accepted the Storm-Ready Supporter distinction. Johnson says it recognizes communities and businesses who take severe weather seriously, and have action plans in place to keep people safe in the event of thunderstorms and tornadoes.
Fox was recognized by Governor Kim Reynolds during her Condition of the State address for his life-saving efforts in keeping employees sheltered during a tornado warning for a storm that directly hit the Vermeer campus on July 19th, 2018.
