The Simpson College Community Orchestra is having a performance on April 14th, under the direction of Dr. Mike Eckerty. Linda Benoit with the orchestra tells KNIA News the orchestra is unique because it is not only comprised of community members and students, but professional musicians who donate their time to play.

“It’s such a unique experience for the Indianola community and for communities around to come hear our orchestra, as it does involve community members and quite a few professional string players. The level of playing is quite high for a community orchestra, and I think people are pleasantly surprised when they come for the first time, and realize the level of difficulty of the music that we play.”

The concert begins at 7pm at the Blank Performing Arts Center on the Simpson College campus. The concert is family friendly, free to attend, and expected to last an hour.
