A Knoxville man has been sentenced to six years in prison on charges of indecent contact with a child and lascivious acts with a child.

38-year-old Jason Adam Brandon appeared in court in Marion County on Thursday morning; he received three two-year sentences on three counts of indecent contact with a child, running consecutively; and one for five years on the lascivious acts count, to run concurrently with the others.

The state had originally asked for all sentences to be served consecutively, adding up to eleven years; the defense had urged Brandon’s placement in a treatment facility in the Des Moines area.

The court also ordered him to go through the sex offenders’ treatment program while in prison.
