With the warmer temperatures of spring here, the Indianola Fire Department wants to remind residents of the ordinance concerning fires. City code prohibits the burning of rubbish, waste material, or yard waste within the city limits at any time. Outdoor barbecue grills or pits are allowed for the purpose of cooking. Grills must be designed to contain burning material of wood logs or charcoal, and must be fully enclosed and covered with wire mesh. Yard waste and trash are prohibited as burning material within grills.
